Summer Happenings

Two of my favorite people were in town, Britt and Rach! We spent the night riding around on vespas, eating at Tepanyaki, then topped the night off with a pool party at Rachel's.

 

Josh surprised once again with a night out. He bought some tickets to the Magical Mystery tour up at the Deer Valley resort. They had the Beatles themed music with the Utah Orchestra playing in the background. These guys sounded EXACTLY like the real deal. We were both completely convinced they were from London. When they broke out with their American accents at the end, we were in total shock. This event was definitely a highlight of our summer.

We have missed Europe quite a bit. So it was nice to feel a piece of it at the Ocktoberfest up at Snowbird. The food was authentic and the music was bravarin. Which means lots of lederhasen and umpla music.

 

Family Summer Extravaganza

My uncle Reed arranged for a little family reunion with the Nuttall side of my family . We all got together for a Swim/BBQ at the country club.

 

This is Josh's annual Frampton family reunion. Josh's dad planned the whole day out so well. He had the "Frampton Family Olympics". The family was split up into to teams to compete in various events.

 

My family took a trip down to Fish lake for a few days. I have never been into fishing. But it was rewarding this trip to actually catch my first fish! The best thing about living back in Utah is being able to spend a lot more time with family. Our nieces and nephews are at such fun ages. They cracked us up constantly.

 

Our last trip of the summer, we went to Lake Powell with Josh's family. Josh is one of the best waterskiiers I know. So I LOVED watching him do what he does best. The rest of the week was filled with exploration, cliff jumping, fishing, sunbathing, and more waterskiing/wakeboarding.

 

New York, New York

I know all of you are thinking it's about time for some updates from the Frampton clan. But since I am the one who blogs in this family, it sometimes just doesn't get done. Let's just say, my priorities are elsewhere lately. In the next while I'll "try" to post about what we've been up to this past summer. For now I'll post about our little detour on our move back to the good Ol' U.S.A. Don't expect too much from this post. Lol.
Josh had to work in New York for a couple of days on our way back to Salt Lake. So in order to see some of the sites together, we headed out early in the morning before Josh had to run off to work. I have never been to New York, so it was fun for Josh to play tour guide. He showed me a bit of the Financial District, Ground Zero, and we walked along the river overlooking Brooklyn Bridge and the Statue Of Liberty. I then met up with one of best friends from Switzerland. I was even able to get in some great shopping the last day in So ho. If you haven't been there, it is a must. The area was full of darling little boutiques(A lot of vintage items). And plenty of other great finds as well.

 

 

 

 

More of The Big Apple

I hadn't seen Alyssa in a while. So needless to say, I was a little excited to see the city with her. She was one of the first people I met while in Switzerland. And we've been the best of friends ever since. We had a full day of shopping, lunch, and sight-seeing. I hadn't seen her for quite a while since her family relocated. But it seemed like yesterday when we saw eachother. And best of all, I was able sweet little Eli. He was so good the entire day. I was seriously shocked, seeing as it was craziness everywhere we went. We tried to hit up most of the major sites such as Rockefeller Center, FAO Schwartz Toy Store, Central Park, and best of all, shopping on 5Th Avenue. I only wish I could have seen the rest of the Barlow family. Until next time Lys!

 

 

 

 

Yodeling festival

For our last little hurrah in Switzerland we went to a yodeling festival in Luzern Switzerland. Luzern over the last two years has been a special place for us to go. We have been there many times. It was only fitting that we would spend our last day there. Our friends Matt and Erin joined us to see all the yodellers. It was great to spend one last time with them and their adorable children Danny & Rachel. What we pictured yodeling is not how it was at all. Think more barbershop quartet, but bigger. They all sing in harmony but the songs are more folk songs. They also have the huge horns which are really amazing to listen to. We truly will miss going to events such as this!!

Farewell party

Before we left, we had a last get together with our dear friends we made in Switzerland. We would like to thank everyone for their help, support and friendship these last couple of years. We have fully enjoyed the vacations, birthdays, holidays & just general get togethers. And I will especially miss all our GNO's it seems we had every month. We've all had a blast hanging out with just the girls. We all came to Switzerland as strangers and left with life long friendships. A special thanks to Erin and Jenny for throwing this little shindig. We'll miss you all!

 

Grecian Cruise

We went on a cruise through the Grecian Islands. The cruise started and ended it Athens. We went through Kalymnos, Bodrum (Turkey), Kos, Paros, Mykonos, & Syros. All of these islands offered something different. A few of them were known for sponges. They grow them and then sell them. We found some fun transportation around the islands in the form of 4 wheelers. They were a tons of fun to drive. When in Turkey we went to a Turkish bath. It was really funny when these rather burly women came out to do the scrub down. I was totally beat up from these women. Josh laughed as his little rag doll was being thrown around. We absolutely loved the many beaches we encountered. Some were better than others of course, but it was so fun to lay out enjoy the sun and swim in the sea!

 

More beaches and towns. We loved the white buildings in some cases the streets were even painted white. It was really beautiful. We couldn't believe how many times these islands had the same landscape as Utah. It was just very dry and sunny.

 

Check out the sand castle that Josh built. Josh spent a mere 4 hours building it by hand without buckets. It turned out pretty amazing if I do say so myself. Adults on the beach got the biggest kick out of a grown man doing such a thing. But he didn't care it was just something fun for him to do. The picture of the building in ruins is from Acropolis in Athens. It was really amazing to see what those acient societies built. Look at me on the beach again!! LOVE IT!!
